Online eMail Authentications & Valuations...
The Fastest and Least Expensive Approach

Step #1: Digital Images:

Provide us with a clear digital image of each individual item you are seeking a value on, by sending to our email address ([email protected]). The digital image should include a close-up image of the picture, matting, and frame. If you don't have access to a digital camera, you may send a good quality photograph(s) through the mail, along with all the information and payment. Please provide an e-mail address for the Appraisal response, as it will not be sent via US mail.
Step #2: Item Specifics: Provide us with the following information:
  • NAME OF PHOTOGRAPHER OR ARTIST (if known).
  • PICTURE OR PRINT TITLE...If no title, call it an "Untitled" picture.
  • MAT SIZE...Measure from inside-to-inside of the frame. If close-framed with no mat, go to "c) Picture Size"
  • PICTURE SIZE...Measure the actual picture
  • DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION...Tell us whether there are any water stains, foxing, tears, or other noticeable blemishes on the picture or matting
  • PEN OR PENCIL SIGNATURE...Tell us whether the picture carries a Pen or Pencil signature
  • BACKING...Tell us whether the backing is original, old but not original, new/newer, or missing/ none
  • OTHER COMMENTS...Tell us anything else special about the picture, (e.g., Label on the back, Signed on the Picture, Copyright on Picture, etc
Step #3: Payment: Payment Terms are as follows:
  • $15.00 for the first picture, $12.50 for each subsequent picture
  • Hourly rates are available on 10 or more items
  • You can either call (215-345-6094) or email with your Visa or MasterCard information. We will need the card #, exp. date, and the 3-digit verification number off the back of the card to process the payment.
  • If you prefer to pay with PayPal, use applicable button below, or for 3 or more picture appraisals, please log onto to www.paypal.com and send payment to: [email protected] (or call for larger group rate).

The Online eMail Authentication & Valuation will consist of a prompt return eMail which includes:

  • Name or Title of the Picture (if known)
  • Authenticity Confirmation...We will tell you whether the item in question is an original hand-colored photograph, an original print, a reproduction, or a fake.
  • Our Opinion of Value...We will provide you with a current Fair Market Opinion of Value on each individual item.

This Online eMail Authentication & Valuation is usually best suited for dealers looking to quickly price new or existing inventory, or for individuals seeking to quickly confirm the authenticity and value of something they have purchased. Unless we are traveling we can usually respond within 24 hours.

A More Detailed Written Appraisal
on our Letterhead

This USPAP-compliant Appraisal approach can be best done either by bringing your pictures to us, or by having us visit your home. If neither of these options are feasible, it can be done via the Internet by sending us digital images of your pictures, or by mailing photographs, and the related specifics ...in 3 very simple steps:

Step #1: Digital Images:

Provide us with a clear digital image (by sending to our email address... [email protected]), or send a color photograph (via USPS) of each individual item you are seeking a value on. The digital image or photograph should include a close-up image of the picture, matting, and frame.

Step #2: Item Specifics: Provide us with the following information:
  • NAME OF PHOTOGRAPHER OR ARTIST (if known).
  • PICTURE OR PRINT TITLE...If no title, call it an "Untitled" picture.

  • VISA or MasterCard Payments: You can either call (215-345-6094) or eMail your Visa or MasterCard information. We will need the credit card #, exp. date, the 3-digit verification number off the back of the card, as well as the billing address for the credit card, to process the credit card payment.

The USPAP-compliant Appraisal will consist of a written appraisal, on our letterhead, which includes:

  • Authenticity Confirmation: We will tell you whether the item in question is an original hand-colored photograph, an original print, a reproduction, or a fake.
  • Numerical Condition Grading: We will provide you with a Numerical Condition Grading Range using our 5-Point Grading Scale.
  • Picture Location: If we know where your picture was taken, we will tell you.
  • WN Studio #: If a Wallace Nutting Picture, and if we know your picture's WN Studio #, we will tell you.
  • Detailed Picture & Condition Description: We will provide you with a detailed description of each item.
  • Additional Comments: We will include any other pertinent details we may have on each individual item.
  • Our Appraised Value: We will provide you with a current Fair Market Value on each individual item.

This USPAP-compliant Appraisal is usually best suited for individuals seeking a written appraisal for Insurance, Inheritance, Legal, or Estate purposes, or for individuals seeking additional information on their picture beyond just confirming authenticity and value. Our usual turnaround time for these appraisals is 3-7 days after we receive the request. However we can provide a quicker e-mail or verbal opinions, followed up by our written appraisal.
